Crossroads MX Rider Appreciation Weekend ROCKED!~

Mason, IL

Crossroads MX held their Annual Rider Appreciation Weekend Oct 13/14.  After the races on Saturday, everyone was invited to participate in a pit bike race, buddy race, bicycle race, and other games.  Awards were handed out to all.  A full course meal was provided to everyone that attended the races Saturday evening and a huge bon fire was lit for everyone to gather around and stay warm.  Nikki Beck provided the makings of Smores for anyone that wanted one.  Sunday morning started out with a warm welcome back to racing for Russell Bell from Indiana after a horrendous crash at the Pro-Am in August.  He also gave an inspirational message & prayer before practice.

The racing to watch  was the heated Quad C class.  Quad racer Brett Davis #91 shot in the lead in the first lap and took the win with Trey Currie #51 knocking at the back door, followed closely by #31 Henry Summers.  By the end of the 2nd lap, Tanner Flack #5 was charging thru the pack and moved into 3rd.   Determined to get to the front, Flack chased down Currie and in the final lap, made the pass at the finish line to take 2nd place with Currie in 3rd.  In the 2nd moto Currie held the lead in the first lap with Davis charging hard behind him with Flack in 3rd. In the 2nd lap, Davis was able to get by Currie and held the lead for the overall win.  Towards the end of the moto, Currie was having bike trouble and dropped to the back of the pack which allowed Flack to move up into 2nd place and Norman Robbins to move into 3rd.

In the bike classes there was some really competitive racing in the 125B class.  The winner could not be predicted until it was over as the racers diced back and forth around the track.   In the 1st moto,  Kody Hamer # 407 held the lead for the win. With Dustin Anderson #122 right behind him.  Quentin Jones # 118 held 3rd place and Alex Buester in 4th.  In the 2nd moto it was a different story.  Anderson started out in the lead with Hamer putting the pressure on until he made the pass. Anderson had bad luck as he blew over a  berm in the 2nd lap which dropped him down to 6th place.  Buerster moved into 2nd place with Cody McMurry moving into 3rd.  The battle was on and by the 4th lap, Curtis Baston # 324 passed McMurry, which moved him into 3rd.  Hamer had bad luck dropping down to 5th place in the last lap, which moved Buester into first, Baston into 2nd and McMurry into 3rd and Jones into 4th.  The overall was Buerster 1st, Hamer 2nd and Jones 3rd.   Buerster later made the comment, “the track got real rough.  I’ll take the win whichever way it comes around.”   Comments by Gary Adams and Steve Shank, Vet 45+, “the track is really back to old school and fun.”

The level of competitive racers seems to have grown this season at CRMX.

The first set of motos of the day, hole shot awards were given out by local sponsors and at intermission, there were drawing for cases and several 4-packs of RedBull provided by Koerner Distributor, Inc.of Effingham.

Crossroads MX would like to thank all the sponsors for their continual support of our sport.  Thanks goes out to all racers and their families that have raced/supported CRMX in the 07 Season.

CRMX final races for the season are Nov 3&4 with District 17 pts. &  Nov 11th as a non- District pts. race.
